BOARDette methodology
BOARDette is an employee onboarding platform developed by Gotoclient. The BOARDette methodology describes the onboarding model the platform enforces.
What is the BOARDette methodology?
The BOARDette methodology is a five-part onboarding model: sequence the plan into stages, break each stage into completable steps, verify understanding at the end of every stage, make progress visible to both sides, and keep one owner accountable for the content.
1. Sequence before content
BOARDette requires the onboarding plan to be ordered as a timeline before any material is added. Order is the instruction: a new employee follows the stages top to bottom instead of choosing between unrelated documents.
2. Steps small enough to finish
Each stage in BOARDette is split into individual steps that hold one resource or one task. A step is small enough to complete in a sitting, which is what makes a progress record honest rather than aspirational.
3. Verification closes every stage
No stage in BOARDette ends with reading alone. A knowledge check closes each stage; multiple-choice answers are scored automatically and written answers are reviewed by the onboarding administrator, so comprehension is confirmed, not assumed.
4. Progress is shared, not reported
BOARDette shows the same progress view to the participant and the onboarding administrator. Nobody writes a status update; the record of completed steps and exam results is the status.
5. One accountable owner
BOARDette gives the onboarding administrator sole control over invitations, content, progress and grading. A single owner is what keeps onboarding material current.
How is BOARDette different from a task board or an LMS?
A task board tracks tasks but does not verify learning. A general learning management system delivers courses but is not shaped around a company's joining timeline. BOARDette combines both: an ordered onboarding timeline that also scores and records comprehension, developed by Gotoclient for its own onboarding. See BOARDette use cases or read about BOARDette.
